Morgantown, W.Va. (AP) -- Morgantown is better known as a mecca for college students than as a haven for hunters.
But the city is looking to become the sixth West Virginia municipality to allow deer hunting within its limits.
The Morgantown city council on Tuesday approved the creation of a committee that would prepare the way for an urban deer hunt in fall 2010.
City manager Dan Boroff says the committee will draw members from neighborhood associations as well as from the ranks of hunters.
Urban deer hunts -- which only allow hunters to use bows and arrows -- are currently permitted in Barboursville, Bridgeport, Charleston, Weirton and Wheeling.
