Friday night, the lights on Marietta's Christmas tree were turned on for the first time this holiday season.
The tree was donated by Dean and Helen Kehl, who live just outside of Whipple in Washington County.
The Kehl's planted the tree in their front yard 50 years ago.
They used to decorate the tree every Christmas, but when it got too big to do the job themselves, they decided to donate it.
The Kehl's say they're excited for the tree to have a new home this holiday season where the entire community can enjoy it.
