Verner, W.Va. (AP) -- Searchers have found the body of a Mingo County woman whose vehicle plunged into the Guyandotte River near Verner.
Authorities and family members identified the victim as 63-year-old Bertha Dean of Gilbert.
Dean's body was found early Friday morning on the riverbank near the accident scene.
A pickup truck driven by Dean went into the river along route 80 Thursday evening. A male passenger managed to get out of the vehicle.
Mingo County 911 director Jerod Fletcher says Dean apparently lost control of the vehicle after hitting a patch of ice.
