Charleston Lawyer Meshea Poor Appointed To House
Charleston lawyer Meshea Poore has been appointed to the 31st district seat in the House of Delegates.

Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- Charleston lawyer Meshea Poore has been appointed to the 31st district seat in the House of Delegates.

Gov. Joe Manchin announced Poore's appointment Friday.

The democrat replaces Carrie Webster, who was appointed as a Kanawha County Circuit Court judge earlier this month.

Poore served as a Kanawha County public defender from 2004 until November, when she went into private practice.
