Authorities are investigating the death of a Meigs County man, found slumped over the wheel of his truck near the Coolville exit ramp on Route 50 Wednesday night.

A trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol says he stopped to put a 48 hour ticket on the red truck, when he noticed a person inside.

Upon further investigation, troopers say the driver, an elderly man, had died of what appears to be natural causes.

Troopers say the vehicle was in gear and it appears the man pulled over to the side of the road.

While no foul play is suspected, an investigation is ongoing.
