If you're planning to run for a county or state office in West Virginia this year, you'll have to file soon.

The deadline to file to be a candidate in the Mountain State is Saturday.

The Wood County Clerk's Office will be closed Saturday but you can mail in your paperwork as long as it's postmarked by midnight Saturday.

Paperwork for county races must be mailed to the county clerk's office, but for state races like the House of Delegates, State Senate, and U.S Congress, candidates must file with the Secretary of State's Office which will be open Saturday until midnight.
