Two people protesting against President Bush were cited for trespassing Sunday shortly before the president gave a speech at the state Capitol.
Nicole and Jeffrey Rank of Corpus Christie, Texas, say they were removed from the event because they wore t-shirts bearing anti-Bush messages.
Acting Capitol police force Director Jay Smithers says the Ranks didn't give his officers any choice. Smithers says the pair had tickets to Bush's speech but they concealed their t-shirts under other clothing.
After the pair passed the security point, they removed the other clothing and mingled in the crowd.
Smithers says his officers asked the Ranks to go to a designated area for protesters but they refused.
