"Fair" Play?

The fact of the matter is, the Neighbors DID march in the parade, without permission...
A community parade should promote unity, and should not serve as the forum for any controversial group to spread a divisive message. The Neighbors are the local branch of a large, paid, professional activist group called Ohio Citizen Action. OCA is known for propagating panic and fear through the spread of misinformation in local Ohio communities while extracting funding to keep their organization viable. Their presence often results in irreparable damage to a community's local economy and reputation. If I were Eramet or another sponsor of the fair, I would not appreciate such a group's presence for the sole purpose of attacking and spreading misinformation either.
If the fair board could go two years without making a stupid decision, the fair might be able to get back to being a fun event. Sure, charge people to be in the parade, and go from a great event to the fourth of july parade that's over in 8 minutes. I thought the crowd was great at the fair on Saturday, I just don't have any faith left in the fair board to make appropriate decisions. Despite elections and turnover, the board seems to continue the legacy of poor judgment which has marked the event for the last ten years.
Good for the Fair Board! It's about time somebody stands up to these liberal enviro-nazies. It's nut cakes like this global warming crowd that cost us jobs and money.
Isn't the right to life group also a controversial message? They were permitted to walk in the parade. Also the Washington Co. Democratic Party saying that without Bush in office the price of gas would be $1.84. Is that not calling attention to a political party's stand?
Fair boards reason for not allowing Neighbors for clean air to march in the parade was simply they (the board members did not want to offend Eramet a financian sponsor of the fair. Not because of political or financian reasons. What is important here, the financial support or the protection of the health of the community?
