An early morning house fire is contained easily thanks to the help of a neighborhood jogger.

Parkersburg Chief Fire Inspector Tim Flinn says the fire broke out at a home on Frances Street in South Parkersburg just after 7:00 a.m.

He says it was an accidental fire that started in a toaster oven. No one was home at the time of the fire, but a passerby noticed smoke, heard fire alarms, and called 911.

Inspector Flinn says this is a perfect example of why it's so important to have smoke detectors.

Flinn says thanks to the jogger's quick notification damage was kept to a minimum. No one was injured.
