Two classes of kids and one special cat have teamed to create a book that is soon going to be available across the country.

Second and fourth graders at Franklin Elementary School in Parkersburg wrote a book about an unusual inhabitant for a school.

Two authors, Martin and Delia Wach taught a workshop at Franklin last year, when they noticed a cat roaming outside the school grounds.

Students at the school let them in on a well-kept secret at the school, a secret the Wachs thought was also an excellent plot for a book.

With the help of three teachers--Miss Ellis, Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Bargeloh--two classes began writing their first book.

Kids say it was a collaborative effort to create the 32-page book that was written and illustrated by the students.

The authors say it took them exactly four months to write "The Cat Has Class."

The book is on sale at the Vienna Borders Book Store as well as the website and Amazon.com.

Half of the proceeds from the book go to help refurbish the school's library.

Now teachers say this cat loves the school as the students love the cat.

They say the cat was adopted three times and taken off school grounds and each time, the cat came back.
