The Belpre Board of Education took a stand against vouchers for others schools, Monday evening.
Their measure is an organized opposition to a measure making its way through the Ohio Statehouse.
If passed by the Ohio Senate as well, the voucher program would allow families making less than $95,000 eligible to get a voucher to support another school system.
Superintendent describes the House Bill 136 as "The Vampire of Public Education."
"It drains the funds from the public school system and gives them to either charter schools or parochial schools," explains Superintendent Tony Dunn.
More than a hundred school systems have already passed resolutions of formal opposition to House Bill 136 so far.
