The massive flooding in Jackson County last November left many farms with significant damage, leading Governor Tomblin to declare it a flood disaster.

Jackson County - Governor Tomblin Declares Flood Disaster

The massive flooding in Jackson County last November left many farms with significant damage. The damage is also taking a toll on crops now. The extensive damage led to Governor Earl Ray Tomblin declaring the flood as a flood disaster. The crop loss is worth an estimated $60,000.

Because of the great loss and Governor Tomblin's declaration, the West Virginia Department of Agriculture will be able to apply for federal assistance.
