Donald Gail "Don" Deem, 73, of Marietta, died Monday, February 6, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 13, 1938 in El Dorado, KS to Claremont and Arline Jacobsen Deem. Don had received his BA in Business Administration from Governors State University in University Park, IL. He had worked as a color specialist at Borg Warner, General Electric and retired from Accurate Color in 1995, as vice president. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he had served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Don is survived by his wife, Judith A. Neader Deem, they were married on October 13, 1962, a daughter, Melissa Deem (Amitava Bhattacharjee) of Durham, NH, a son, Brian Deem (Nancy) of Charlotte, NC, six grandchildren, Seth, Brad and Carly Deem, Shikha, Maya and Arun Bhattacharjee and one living sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Patricia, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be at New St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Mary Church Restoration Fund, 506 Fourth St., or Home Nursing and Hospice, 210 N. Seventh St., Suite 400, Marietta, OH 45750.
