Kenneth M. Moore, 87, of Parkersburg.W.Va. went home to be with his Savior Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
Kenneth was born on Jan. 10, 1921, the son of the late Lundy and Clara Boice Moore.
Kenneth retired from Union Insulating Co. with 38 years of service, was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II, was a Gideon and a member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church for over 60 years, where he served as a teacher, a treasurer and a trustee over the years. Kenneth was a former leader of the Cub Scouts Pack 8 and he loved fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Ella “Armeda” Enoch Moore; three daughters, Donna S. Allen (Carl L.) of Washington, W.Va., Marcella K. Moore of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Marcia E. Metz (Bruce) of Belpre, Ohio; one son, Dennis R. Moore of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one sister, Ruth Hughes (Charles) of Elizabeth, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Christi Smith of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Kevin Allen (Teri) of Washington, W.Va., Kimberly Gandee (Jason) of Little Hocking, Ohio, Jodie Mullins (Wayne) of Vienna, W.Va., and Sarah Moore of Littleton, Colo.; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Glenn Moore; and two sisters, Garnet West and Ruby Matheny.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Joe Busch officiating. Entombment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens and Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
