Elizabeth Marian Strick, 97, of Vienna, WV, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008, at her home. She was born January 24, 1911 in Lorain, Ohio to John Thomas and Mary Maude Foxall Barnes. She graduated from Lorain High School, and Lorain Business College. She raised her family and lived in Wheeling, WV for over 58 years. Elizabeth was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, and was a past president of the Wheeling Hospital Auxiliary. She lived the last seven years with her daughter in Vienna and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Marietta, Ohio. She is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Sue) Strick of Southport, NC and Paul Strick of Bellaire, Ohio; her six daughters, Jane Crock of Cinncinnati, Ohio, Mary Beth (Bob) Lamb of Vienna, WV, Cecilia (Dr. Frederick) Jaecklein of Marquette, MI, Judy (John) Silvestri of New Canaan, CT, Margaret (Pete) Caputo of Bethel Park, PA, and Jacqueline Cherry of New Canaan, CT; 25 grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. Elizabeth was greatly loved by all, especially those who called her mother, grandmother and "GG". She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Francis Strick on September 29, 1994; a grandson, Robert Stephen Lamb and four brothers, William, John, Edward and James Barnes. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with the Rosary being prayed at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling, WV at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Donations may be made to the St. Mary Church Restoration Fund, 506 Fourth St., Marietta, OH 45750.
