Charles W. "Candy Man" Anderson, 82, of Fort Wayne, IN and formerly of Marietta, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at his home. He was born September 10, 1925 in North Manchester, IN to George Russell and Etna Wertenburger Anderson. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He had been manager for the VFW in Marietta, and a candy salesman for Wayne Candy Bun Bars. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and 40&8 in Both Marietta and in Fort Wayne. He is survived by a son, Jim Anderson of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Cynthia Few (Jason) of Lowell, Chris Miller (Stacey) of Marietta, Laurie Anderson of St. Petersburg, FL and Amy Anderson of Tampa, FL and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Marie Quinn Anderson, on February 17, 2002, they had been married on July 26, 1946; also preceded by his daughter, Lynn Miller and a sister. Graveside military services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008, at 2:00 p.m, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Marietta. There is no visitation. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
