Charles L. Ridgeway, 72, of Fearing Street, Marietta, died at 10:20 pm on May 11, 2008.
He was born on February 24, 1936, in New Martinsville, WV, a son of Charles and Elizabeth Jones Ridgeway. He was retired from the Marietta City Street Department.
He married Bonnie Jean Douthitt who preceded him in death on August 29, 1996.
Surviving are 1 daughter and 1 son: Rhonda (Kevin) Wallace and Jamie (Angie Evans) Ridgeway both of Marietta, 2 grandchildren; Nicole (Matthew) Martin and Aaron (Crystal) Douthitt, 3 great grandchildren; Alexis Martin, Austin Douthitt, Braden Douthitt all of Marietta; and 3 step grandchildren; Timothy Evans, April Yoho, Bobby Yoho all of Marietta. Also surviving are 2 sisters Lody Dunn of Marietta and Dorothy (Ray Myers) Whitacre of Graysville; brother-in-law Billy (Phyllis) Douthitt of Lowell, sister-in-law June Ridgeway of Devola and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Robert and Walter “Cricket” Ridgeway.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 15th, at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Don Kirby officiating. Burial will be in New Matamoras Cemetery.
