Floyd S. DePuy, 96, of Dart, died at 10:40 am on Friday, June 20, 2008, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 12, 1912, in Washington County a son of William B. DePuy and Anna Bohlen DePuy. Floyd was retired from the Labors Union, enjoyed farming and was a self-employed oil producer. He was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church, Masterton Lodge #429, F & AM Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Little Muskingum Grange.
On October 4, 1933, Floyd was married to Mary Bowersock who preceded him in death on November 18, 1988. Surviving are his grandson Gale (Barbara) DePuy of Dart; 5 great grandchildren; Tammy (Ryan) Layton, Teresa DePuy and friend Rob Benton, Gale David DePuy and his friend Rachel Strickler, Tracy (Kevin) Hines and Tina DePuy; 10 great, great grandchildren: Drew, Derek, Devin, Dawson, and Denay Layton, Gabriel Benton, Carly and Tabitha Strickler, Gale DePuy III, Kenley Hines; and former daughter-in-law Karen McVay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Gale Clifford DePuy and brother Arthur DePuy.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:00 pm on Saturday until the hour of the service. Donations in Floyd’s memory may be made to either Lawrence Baptist Cemetery Fund or Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department.
