Mildred (Mammy) Mae George, 90,went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2006. She was born March 16, 1915, in Reedy,WV,a daughter of the late Elisha Otis and Mary Otie (Westfall) Dunbar. She was a 1933 graduate of Elizabeth High School where she was valedictorian. Mammy worked for the American Viscose Company and later became a beautician and beauty school instructor. She was an active member of Broadway Church of the Nazerene for over 60 years where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years, andwrote/directed dramas at the church. Mammy is survived by her son and daughter in law: Larry and Carol George, 4 grandchildren: Shawna (Jed) Fordyce,Larry B. (Judith) George; Brian (Brandy) Reed;Kristen(Jason) Johnson; 9 great grandchildren; Stacey, Elizabeth, Vicki and Samantha Fordyce; Katie George; Hayla, Kallie and Laney Reed; and Brayden Johnson; 2 brothers; Donald (Dottie) Dunbar;Carroll (Edith) Dunbar; 2 sisters:Dorothy (Von) Smith; Doris Brannon; 3 sisters in law: Dorothy Dunbar,Earlene Dunbar and Margaret Dunbar; several nieces andnephews. Mammy was preceded in death her parents; 1st husband,Burdette George, 2nd husband Shirley White,4 brothers; Worthy (Sonny) Dunbar; Foster, Forrest and Mayford Dunbar; 1 infant sister;and daughter in law, Sharon (Jackson) George.Mammy fiercely loved her family and her heart's desire was to meet all of her family in Heaven. She was a faithful prayer warrior,loved by many and was always willing to help others. Services 11AM Friday, January 6, 2006 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Stutler officiating.Burial in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation 4-8 PM Thursday and until service time Friday.
