| Betty N. Darnell 88, of Chamberlain Drive Marietta, OH, died at 12:29 P.M. Friday June 26, 2009, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born July 25, 1920, in Wellsburg, WV, to the late Jess and Blanche Garletts Bone. Betty attended school in Oklahoma and married Carl E. Darnell on January 18, 1938. He survives with three daughters Beverly A. Hess (Jerry) St. Paris, OH, Linda K. Thrasher (Kelsey) Broken Arrow, OK, and Deborah L. McCutcheon (Douglas) Waterford, OH. There are nine grandchildren: Candace Dillon, Eric Hess (Heidi), Kevin Thrasher, Michael Thrasher (Jessica), Dave Cline (Roxanne), Jeff Cline (Jessica), Jason Cline (LeAnn), Dustin Cline (Ashley) and Jennifer Heiss (Lee). There are twenty three great grandchildren: Joshua, Jessie, Dakota, Courtney, Annie, Tabitha, Brandon, Wyatt, Gage, Lacey, Christopher, Kailee, Lane, Sidnee, Briceson, Tyler, Emma, Levi, Alana, Trevor, Lee, Jr., Larissa and Lakyn. She was a cook for 18 years for the Marietta City School System and a member of First Baptist Church of Marietta, American Baptist Women Association, the Susan Harding Church Circle, V.F.W. Post #5108 Ladies Auxillary and American Legion Post #64 Ladies Auxillary. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson Kerry Thrasher. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 1, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel with the Pastor David S. Bilyeu officiating and burial to follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. The family asks that memorials be made to First Baptist Church 301 4th St. Marietta, OH 45750, in memory of Betty.
