William “Bill” D. Connelly, 66, of Mineral Wells, W.Va. passed away June 30, 2009, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born December 14, 1942, in Monterey, California, a son of Elvin J. Connelly of New Mexico, and the late Bonnie Cross Favinger. Bill retired as a Data Processing Manager from Alcan Products (the former Kaiser Aluminum). He was a longtime member of the EAA, Experimental Aircraft Association. He also built and flew a RV-6 aircraft. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a Branch President and counselor in the Charleston, West Virginia Stake Presidency. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Lorraine Smith Connelly; his father, Elvin J., and step-mother, Sarah Connelly of New Mexico; two daughters, Carolyn Connelly and Michelle Beal and husband Todd, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two sons, Paul W. Connelly and wife Kelly of Columbus, Ohio, and Daniel L. Connelly and wife Patty, also of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Charisse Favinger of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Erin Connelly and husband Don Perea of New Mexico; three brothers, Ronald J. Connelly, James “Jimmy” Favinger, and Craig Connelly, all of California; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell W. Connelly; his mother, Bonnie Cross Favinger, and his step-father, James A. Favinger. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2515 Capital Drive, Parkersburg, W.Va., with Bishop Mark Long officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, to the Troop of the donor’s choice.
