Sam Lee Kidd, 50, of New Matamoras, Ohio died Monday Oct. 26, 2009 at the Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, WV. He was born on July 9, 1959 in Marietta the son of Robert W. and Dorothy G. Bohlen Kidd. He owned Skidd Auto Service in New Matamoras, Ohio. He attended the Matamoras Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Marietta. He was a graduate of Frontier High School in 1977 and the Washington State Community College in 1979. He was a member of Matamoras Lodge No 374 F & AM, a Past Master of Little Muskingum Grange No. 2621, Pomona Grange, State and National Granges. He was the president of the Frontier Local Economic Development Association and was named volunteer of the year and was a past president of OAPSE. He helped to organize the Kid's Night at Matamoras Elementary School, was an honorary member of the National Honor Society, a member of the Social Interaction Through Education Services and Mock Trial at Frontier High School. He was also a member of the Ohio State Fair Board and Co Founder of Camp Opportunity for families of the deaf. He had been a school bus driver for Frontier Local Schools and was the owner of Shield-Avago Oil Drilling Co. and had also driven a milk truck for Barth Farms. He served on many community projects. On December 12, 1981 he married Vesta J. Minder who survives with one son and two daughters. Nicholas E. Kidd and his special friend Kaitlyn Westbrook; Samantha L. Kidd and her special friend Kyle Davis; Whitney R. Kidd and her special friend Geoffrey Bennett and two grandchildren Oliva (Ollie) Davis and Wyatt (Bubba) Bennett. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: Bill Kidd (Janet) , Rusty Kidd (Beverly), Sandy Cisler (Randy), and Sharon Hooten (Lundy) Services will be held on Friday October 30, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. the Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel in Marietta with Rev. Richard Saltzwedel officiating. Friends may call at the Reno Chapel on Wednesday Oct. 28 from 6 to 8 P.M. where Masonic Services will be held at 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday Oct. 29 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. where Grange Services will be held at 7:30 P.M.
