| William E. Knowlton, Jr., 82 of New Matamoras, OH, passed away, October 31, 2009, at his residence. He was born June 29, 1927, in New Matamoras, OH, a son of the late William, Sr. and Luna Adams Knowlton. He was a 1945 graduate of New Matamoras High School and he was the longest living member of the First Baptist Church of New Matamoras. He was a member of Laborers Union 639 of Marietta, OH, he served as a little league coach for several years and he enjoyed camping, fishing and watching sports. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann White Knowlton, three sons, Keith Knowlton and his wife, Robin, of New Matamoras, OH, Ronnie Knowlton and his wife, Missy, of Marietta, OH, Gregory Knowlton and his wife, Jeanette, of New Matamoras, OH, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, George, Ed, Guy, Kenny, and Floyd Knowlton, and one sister, Gladys Farmer. Services will be held Monday, November 2, 2009, at 1 P. M. at the First Baptist Church, 400 Broadway Street, New Matamoras, OH, with Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Matamoras Cemetery, New Matamoras, OH. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P. M. Sunday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV, and from 11 A. M. to 1 P. M.
