| William E. "Bill" Crone, 69, of Parkersburg, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Camden - Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Vienna on April 5, 1940 a son of the late Ralph and India Lee Nelson Crone. Bill was a retired Iron Worker of more than 30 years with Union 787, a US army veteran and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling when his health allowed. Bill also enjoyed sports and was a Nick Swisher supporter and fan of the University of Kentucky football and basketball teams. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years Phyllis Jones Crone, son William J. Crone of Parkersburg and brother Fredrick Crone of Vienna. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Norman Crone and an infant brother. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Kurt Busiek officiating. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 on Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and from 12 noon till the time of the service at the church on Thursday. | |
