| Athena Lee Hardison, 50, of Hillcrest Drive, Marietta, OH, died at her home on Monday, November 2, 2009. She was born on August 30, 1959, at Newport, RI, to Alice Rosalee Carder-Ankrom and Garland Duane Carder. She was a 1977 graduate of Marietta High School and was employed for several years caring for the elderly, which she truly loved. Athena enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her dogs Ozzy and Misty. She is survived by her mother Rose Ankrom and husband James of Washington, WV, her husband Robert J. Hardison of Marietta, three children Shawn Stark of Bremerton, WA, Shannon Stark of Parkersburg, WV, and step-son Robert J. Hardison, Jr. of Pemberville, OH. There are seven grandchildren, Wealhtheow, Regan, Emma, Lucas, Anastasia, Allyssa, and Ashauna. Athena is survived by her step-father Gale Bennett, siblings: Mark Carder, Robin Barth, Angela Stover, and Lisa Stover, and there are many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Tony Carder, grandparents Virta and Brady Adams, Howard and Audra Bennett and Earl and Pauline Carder. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, where family will greet friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2009. Athena will be cremated at her request and in lieu of flowers please send donations in her name to Athena Hardison Memorial Fund in care of Peoples Bank 138 Putnam Street Marietta, OH 45750.
