Robert B. "Bob" Howard, 80, of Parkersburg died Wednesday November 4, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Mount Hope, WV a son of the late Robert E. and Anna C. (Tolliver) Howard. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He managed Roberts, Chem City, and Mountain Electronics. For over thirty years he worked as a car salesman at McClintons and then Astorgs. He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed flying, fishing, cars, the banjo and wood working. He also enjoyed sports and following the Mountaineers. He was a member of VFW Post 1212, and a charter member of Mid-Ohio Valley Aviation Association. He always treated everyone he encountered with kindness. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years Clara L. Howard; son David Howard (Babette) of Moline, IL; three daughters Terry Ash of Wilmington, NC, Barbara Smith (Doug) of Tiffin, OH, and Brenda Headley (Cliff) of Melborne, FL; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers Bill, Jack, and Karl Howard; and a sister Evelyn Brockman. Services will be Saturday 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Kurt Busiek and Reverend David Carpenter officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
