Charles Edward Murnahan went to sleep in the blessed arms of his Savior Feb. 4, 2010. He was a Yankee Doodle Dandy, born on the 4th of July 1923, son of the late Alonzo and Mabel (Sayles) Murnahan of Dayton, Ohio. Charles was retired from Harries Auto and Electric Company, was an avid bowler, enjoyed trout fishing, camping, and going to the ocean and beach with his family. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Parkersburg, W.Va. Charles will be missed most by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Barbara (Allman) Murnahan; his children, Christopher and Joy Murnahan of Parkersburg, W.Va., Timothy and Sharon Murnahan of Winfield, W.Va., Phyllis and Howard Jeffers of Moorefield, W.Va.., and Kelly Murnahan of Parkersburg, W.Va.; his grandchildren, Amanda and Wesley Hutson of Parkersburg, W.Va., Patrick and Sarah Murnahan of Shallot, NC., Shawn and Lauren Murnahan of Beckley, W.Va.., and Stephanie and Jeff King of Ashland, KY.; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Louvina Engleman of Dayton, Ohio; and his cat, Sam. The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice Services, especially Barb and Connie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Daniel Morikone officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
