6/21/2007 - Yancy's Hot & Spicy BBQ Sauce

Serves 6

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 envelope of regular onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Dash of tiger sauce
  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 green peppers
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1/2 cup water

  • Directions:
    For Marinade, combine first 7 ingredients, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 teaspoon salt. Bring to boiling. Cover: simmer 20 minutes. Cool to room temperature. Add meat or vegetables. Cover; refrigerate overnight. Turn meat occasionally. Drain chicken: reserve marinade. Cut peppers into 1 inch squares, on 6 skewers alternate chicken and peppers. Grill over medium-hot coals to desired doneness: allow about 15 minutes for rare. Baste kebabs with marinade.
