7/8/04 - Sausage Gravy

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound of pork sausage
  • 1/4 cup onion (diced)
  • 2-3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • salt, pepper to taste

  • Directions:
    1. Sauté pork and onions together over medium heat for approximately 5-6 minutes or until sausage is completely cooked.



    2. Add flour and cook for 2-3 minutes or lightly browned. Add milk and chicken stock, and bring to a simmer.



    3. Sauce should tighten to a medium consistency. Add a light touch of milk if sauce is thicker than you desire.



    4. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Top over your favorite home made biscuits.
