7/15/2004 - Fried Green Tomatoes

Serves 4-6

  • 5 medium sized green tomatoes (sliced 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick)
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 3 ounces butter
  • 2 ounces of oil

Directions:
Preheat skillet over medium heat. Add 1/2 butter and oil.



Blend flour and seasoning together. Dredge tomatoes through flour and brown on each side approximately 2 minutes or until browned on each side.



Use remainder of oil and butter as needed to finish tomatoes.
