While he's changed his mind, Rick Modesitt says he will make his last run for Wood County Commission next year.
Modesitt, the current commission president, recently filed his pre-candidacy papers to run for re-election.
Last fall, he told the Wood County Republican Party he had decided not to seek a new term in 2010.
He says that was due to health concerns he had at that time.
"There's a lot to be done, and a lot that's in the works," Modesitt said Thursday morning, "so I'm going to ask the voters for one more term, and that will be the conclusion."
Modesitt has been a commission member for eight years. He was elected to a full term in 2004.
