School students...locally and across the country...are observing "Red Ribbon Week"...to get out the message to reject drugs.
Tuesday, students at Edison Middle School wore mismatched and outrageously patterned socks as part of the theme, "sock it to drugs".
It's part of five days of themes which began Monday with a "walk against drugs".
"We're going to follow this up (Wednesday) with 'team up with drugs'...everybody's going to wear their favorite teams' apparel," says Cynthia Woody, a counselor at Edison School. "Thursday is 'wear red day', and we're showing the video which gives the history of Red Ribbon Week."
The theme week at Edison ends Ffriday with students wearing blue...to "give drugs the blues".
