Marietta College is one win away from winning is second straight Ohio Athletic Conference baseball playoff championship.

The second seeded Pioneers knocked off top seeded Heidelberg 8-4 in Friday morning's winners bracket game in Tiffin Ohio.

The 'Etta Express jumped on the Student Princes with 2 runs in the second inning, 3 runs in the third, and another in the 4th as they would lead this game wire to wire.

Sophomore Danny Jones had a big day at the plate with 3 hits, and Freshman Tom DeAngelis drove in 2 runs.

Chris Stewart was the starting pitcher for Marietta and earned the victory. The Pioneers bullpen did its job with Nate Eschbaugh and Justin Merryman throwing scoreless ball in their relief stints.

Marietta improves to 23-18. The Pioneers advance to Saturday's championship round of the double elimination tournament. They will face the survivor of today's losers bracket elimination games tomorrow at noon.
