Parkersburg high school and powerhouse George Washington are in a dead heat going into tomorrow's championship round of the West Virginia high school tennis tournament.
The Big Red girls and G.W. are tied for the top spot with 10 points.
Parkersburg has 2 girls playing for singles championships. Alex Bush at number 1 singles, and Lakin Whitlatch at number 4.
The Big Reds doubles teams of Bush and Paige Hathaway will play for the number 1 doubles and Whitlatch and Goldie Preston will play for the number 2 singles
George Washington is the leader in the boys Class AAA competition.
Parkersburg is second , 5 points back, and Parkersburg South is tied for 5th.
Teddie Daub is playing for the number 2 singles championship for the Big Reds and Jawn Smith is playing for the number 3 singles crown.
In Class AA-A boys, Charleston catholic is running away with the competition. Parkersburg Catholic and Williamstown are tied for 7th
Charleston Catholic is leading in the girls division with Parkersburg Catholic tied for 6th, and St. Marys and Williamstown are tied for 9th.
The state tournament wraps up Saturday morning in Charleston.
