Softball players all across West Virginia converged upon godby fields on the southside today, all hoping to leave parkersburg with an A-S-A state softball title.
This is the third straight year Parkersburg has hosted the event, which brings 52 teams to the Mid-Ohio Valley. More than 650 athletes in all are competing for their chance to advance to the regional tournament.
Ages range from 8 to 18, with teams traveling from Lewisberg, Morgantown, Charleston and beyond.. this tournament brings an estimated 2500 people into the Mid-Ohio Valley for the weekend
Last season, parkersburg's own Flamin' Fury captured three of the state titles, they're hoping to continue the success this weekend. The championship rounds are tomrrow
