Phillips Qualfes for World Youth Games Save Email Print

Parkersburg High swimmer Tim Phillips narrowly missed qualifying for the semifinals today in the 100 meter butterfly at the U.S. Olympic Trials, but he did solidify himself as the fastest 17-year-old in the country in his event.

Phillips finished 20th overall out of 105 swimmers and achieved a personal best time of 53.78 seconds time, qualifying him for the World Youth Games which start next week in Monterrey Mexico.

Tim will also have the opportunity to swim in the time trials on Saturday at the Quest Center as he looks to strengthen his time in other events. Congratulations to Tim who will be representing the United States Next week in Mexico!
