WTAP spoke with representatives from ESPN for quite some time Friday and here's what they had to say.

First, regarding the server being down Thursday:

ESPN has confirmed it was a WORLDWIDE problem.

Second, how long was the server down?

Several hours. But it was restored to everyone at the same time so no one city got an edge on voting over another.

Third, ESPN confirmed Friday that only one vote can be cast per computer system.

One vote and that's it.

We've heard some people are getting their computers to continuously vote but from what ESPN has told us, we aren't sure if your multiple votes are counting.

It looks like people are sad that Parkersburg had no chance of ever winning and now they will make any excuse instead of face the facts that this is nowhere, and no one cares about pathetic high school sports

Congratulations to Valdosta, GA.. Title Town USA.....but now all we will hear is oh how unfair this was always poor little P-burg. CAN'T never could do anything. Did you ever think there are some people who just didn't care about Title Town anyway?

Whether or not Parkersburg wins the Titletown contest, we have already won !! With our 192 State Championship titles, and the love and support of our small community, plus the recognition and respect to be in the same runnings with the likes of the Yankees,LA teams,Boston teams and the rest of the best, should say enough for our High School teams !! We'll keep training and conditioning our fine young kids from down the street, and keep putting out the records and keep our hometown pride and Friday night excitement right here!!Thank you ESPN for the honor and excitement of being right up there with the Best of the Best!/

Espn is not doing it fairly. The small towns are getting let in the dust. We can't compete with the large cities. Maybe Espn should base on the average town and not the big cities. I just hope they realize what they have done.!!!!!

Sounds like Titletown voting is a big farce. How can they say you can vote unlimited times, then change it in the middle of the voting period? I think we wasted our time on the whole thing. It means nothing!

All you have to do is clear your cookies & Temp internet files between votes and it should work, at least it has been for me. Happy Voting!!

that hardly doesn't seem fair that the smaller schools will get less votes because their city has a lesser population than the bigger ones.

What!!!!Only one vote per computor!!Did ESPN change the rules in the middle of voting? Looks that way to me...
