(AP) - Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers says he used homework to keep from falling behind during his holdout.
The Bengals' top draft choice signed a five-year contract late Tuesday night, then joined the team today at training camp in Georgetown, Kentucky, for practice.
Coach Marvin Lewis says the coaches will evaluate Rivers this week before deciding how much to play him in the team's first preseason game, at Green Bay on Monday night.
Rivers says he studied the playbook, worked out and kept up to date with teammates through text messaging during his holdout.
