Both Parkersburg and Parkersburg South are on the rise in the latest West Virginia Class AAA high school football ratings.

South Charleston is the new number 1 team in the Class AAA ranks.

But the Patriots of Parkersburg South have moved up 4 slots to the number 12 . Meaning that if the playoffs were held today, they would be in the post season party

Parkersburg is inching closer to the Sweet 16 mark. The Big Reds are 19th.

The ratings story is just part of a big week ahead for both the Patriots and the Big Reds as they get ready for their annual crosstown showdown.

The Patriots are well on their way to a winning season with a 4 and 2 start, including back to back victories over Brooke and Washington.

The Big Reds are on a roll of their won.
They've turned things around with as 3 game winning streak, including a 48-14 victory a week ago

The Mid Ohio Valley makes a good showing this week in the Class A ratings.

Heading the list once again is the Williamstown Uellowjackets.

Their 5-0 record has them six tenths of a point ahead of Matewan.

Undefeated Wahama comes in at number 7 with a 5-0 record.

St. Marys is next at number 8. The Blue Devils are 5-1 and are looking to bounce back as they take on arch rival Frontier on Friday night.

Parkersburg Catholic cracks the top 10 at number 9.

While Calhoun County is 15th this week.

The Yellowjackets have topped the ratings since they've first came out.
They play a tough schedule and they've passed their first 5 tests with flying colors.

This week the Jackets face their biggest challenge to date.

They are set to host Class A powerhouse Grafton on Friday.

Grafton checks in at number 3 this week in in the Class AA ratings with a 5-0 record

Ravenswod is now number 6th in the ratings at 4-1.

While Point Pleasant is 13th.

hey what about that game friday night. south/phs. i was very disappointed the the big red fans. they were leaving before half time. where is the support for their team? i heard a comment about how they had to let south win one once in a while. you know south has had some good years and some bad. so when we do win, dont take away the athletic ability of our team. you didnt let us win, we played a better game than phs did. heres one for south woooooo hooooooo

WOW, I BET IF THE BID RED'S WON OVER SOUTH THEIR WOULD BE ALOT MORE COVERAGE ON THIS WEB SITE.AS USUAL PARKERSBURG SOUTH GETS NO RESPECT FROM THE LOCAL NEWS AND NEWS PAPER.I AM FROM COLUMBUS AND EVEN I CAN SEE THAT. WTG SOUTH ON YOUR GREAT WIN OVER THE BIG REDS!!!!!!!
