Phillips Earns Honors at U.S. Swimming Championships.

Former Big Red swimmer Tim Phillips qualified 12th in the 100 meter Buttefly competition at the U.S. Swimming Championships at Indianapolis.

The Mid Ohio Valley is home to a National Championship swimmer.

Tim Phillips is the age 18 and under National Champion in the 100 meter Butterfly.

The PHS grad, swimming for the Marietta YMCA, earned the honor today at the Uniteds States Swimming Championships in Indianapolis

Tonight he competed in the Class B finals of the 100 meter butterfly. His time of 53.59 seconds earned him a fifth place finish in Class B and Tim finishes 13th overall in the event. But he was the fastest by far in his age group.

Earlier today he had the 12th fastest time in the prelimaries heats

Tim will gear up for the YMCA Nationals later this summer in Maryland before beginning his career as a member of the Ohio State swim team.
