Parkersburg high school is not only the winningest school in the Mountain State in American style football, the Big Reds boys also have the winningest program when it comes to the world's version of football.

The Big Red soccer team have won the crown 4 times in school history, including the last 2 years in a row.

Coach Don Fosselman's kids have to be considered a favorite to win it all again this year. Over 50 players tried out for the squad, and Fosselman has the luxury of having 8 of his starters back from last year's team that posted a 24-1 record and defeated Woodrow Wilson in a shootout in the championship match of the state tournament.

The Big Reds have been working out for the last few weeks, and their quest for a "three-peat" gets under way on Friday.

Coach Fosselman knows that nobody will hand the Big Reds anything, they will have to earn it.

Parkersburg opens the season on Friday at Linsley Academy in Wheeling. The Big Reds first home game is next Thursday against George Washington.
