WVU Football Announces Team Award Winners

The West Virginia University football coaching staff has named its award winners for outstanding performance for the 2011 football season.
Offensive Player of the Year – Tavon Austin; Defensive Player of the Year – Najee Goode; Special Teams Player of the Year – Cody Nutter; former Parkersburg South Patriot, Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year – Cody Clay; Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year – Ismail Showell.
Don Barclay, Najee Goode, Geno Smith and Keith Tandy also were named permanent team captains for the 2011 season.
West Virginia finished the 2011 season with a 10-3 overall record, won its sixth BIG EAST Championship since 2003 and seventh overall in the program’s history. The Mountaineers won the 2012 Discover Orange Bowl with a record-setting 70-33 victory over Clemson on Jan. 4.
