Lauren Keeling joined the WTAP news team in February of 2007 as a reporter. In August 2007, she was pleased to accept the position of Weekend Anchor/Weekday Reporter. In June 2008, Lauren planted her roots in Parkersburg and proudly accepted the position of 6 and 11 o'clock Weeknight Anchor.
Lauren is also honored to produce the Come Home segment, which airs every Thursday on WTAP News at Six.
Lauren grew up in Wellston, Ohio, on a farm with her parents and pets. She graduated in June 2006 from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. While in school, Lauren worked as a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society-OU Chapter, as well as the Appalachia READS literacy program. She had the opportunity to learn about the news business on a national level when she interned with NBC at the Today Show in the Spring of 2006.
Lauren is also proud to have represented her home state of Ohio in 2004 as Miss Ohio USA.
Lauren lives in the Mid-Ohio Valley with her husband, Jim and their cat and dog, Charley and Winnie. In her spare time she enjoys baking, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Lauren especially misses her dog, Maddie, who is living with her parents on the farm.
