Name: Courtney Rochon
Title: Assignment Reporter
Email Address: courtney.rochon@wtap.com

Courtney Rochon joined the WTAP News team in May 2007 as an assignment reporter. She grew up in Cincinnati, OH, with her parents, Tom and Debby, and older sister, Katie.

She graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications and Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University with a dual Bachelor of Sciences in Broadcast Journalism and Marketing.

Courtney knew she wanted to be reporter when she watched the September 11th attacks unfold during her first semester of college. Terrorism again played an important role in her life when she spent a semester abroad in London. Courtney and her college roommates found themselves in the middle of the disaster at Atocha Station during the 2004 Madrid train bombings. Both events taught her what a pivotal role the news media plays in society.

During her time in college, Courtney worked on several campus news shows with University Union Television and reported for NPR affiliate, WAER Radio. She also spent several months interning at WKRC-TV in Cincinnati.

Upon graduating, Courtney moved to New York City and worked in advertising for two years before deciding to make the switch back to journalism.

Outside of work, Courtney enjoys spending time her amazing family and friends, as well as her cat, Konrad! She is also very active in running and swimming. She competed in the 2006 ING New York City Marathon as well as several half marathons and a triathlon.

She is very excited to be returning to the Ohio Valley and looks forward to becoming a part of the community.
