Memorial moments include Jeff Hostetler’s naked bootleg in the closing minutes to lift the WV Mountiaineers to upset Pitt, Marshall’s Thundering Herd winning a pair of NCAA DIV. 1AA National Championships, covering the Reds, Pirates, Indians, Browns, Steelers and Bengals. But the real fun is covering the Mid-Ohio Valley sports scene. Whether it’s area high school athletes competing for state titles, or world class athletes hitting the streets of Parkersburg for the National Half Marathon, or Marietta College competing for NCAA Division III baseball crowns, WTAP has a tradition of extensive local sports coverage.
