Terry L. McGill has worked at the Ohio Highway Patrol post in Marietta for 22 years and on Monday he said his final good-byes.

Terry L. McGill a sergeant with the Ohio Highway Patrol post in Marietta retired on Monday after serving Washington County for 22 years.

McGill started his career after he graduated from Cadiz High School in 1973. McGill then furthered his education by obtaining a Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from Muskingum Area Technical College in Zanesville, Ohio in 1975. McGill was employed with the FBI in Washington D.C. as a clerk in 1975. He entered the Patrol Academy in 1978, a year later he was assigned to the Granville Post. By 1987 McGill was transferred to the Marietta Post, he was promoted to sergeant in December of 1990.

McGill resides in Washington County with his wife Marge.
