Many people in Parkersburg are wondering if the possible asbestos in the rubble of the Sly Fox is posing a health risk.

Anthony Turner with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources in the Radiation, Toxics & Indoor Air Division said if there is asbestos, it should not be a danger as long as people stay away from the site.

Turner said the site will be cleaned and removed as if it did contain asbestos, but it is up to the owners of Sly Fox to hire an inspector to see if there is asbestos present.

"If it's found containing asbestos the material would have to be treated as asbestos and removed into a proper disposal site, "said Turner.
