Several weapons taken in a break-in last month and then later recovered, finally made their way home Tuesday morning. The weapons, including several from World War II, were found last week by two women who notified the Parkersburg police.
They will be displayed once again in the Veterans Museum of the Mid-Ohio Valley after a security system is installed. "It looks like they left the weapons where it was damp, so we're going to clean them," says Museum Director Gary Farris. "The security system is going to be installed ( Wednesday), so we will start displaying them after the security system is put in place."
As a result of that project, the museum will be closed for tours, although it will remain open for other business.
While two suspects have been arrested in connection with the thefts, the Parkersburg Police Department's investigation continues.
