Commercial Vehicle Crash Closes Portion of Ohio Routes 78 and 83
An accident on Ohio Route 78 in Morgan County shut down part of that roadway Friday morning.

Statement from the Ohio Highway Patrol:
The Marietta Post is on the scene of a minor, non-injury commercial crash on Ohio Route 78 near milepost 28.5 in Morgan County. This location is at the intersection of SR 83 north. The commercial vehicle involved is incapacitated after the driver attempted to get the vehicle out of a ditch tearing out the driveshaft and breaking air lines. Brock's towing and Clever's towing are on scene attempting to remove the commercial unit. Removal will require intermediate and temporary closures of both Ohio routes 78 and 83 throughout the morning.
Sgt. Donald Ryan, of the D-7 LCS unit and Lt. Mary Pfeifer, Marietta Post Commander, have been notified. Trooper Steve Wetz, of D-7 LCS is enroute to the scene. The Morgan County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Department of Transportation are aware of the situation.
Troopers are at the scene conducting traffic control.
