it may be called "Sleepy Hollow Road"...but there's nothing legendary about it.

And the Wood County Commission Monday closed the county's segment of the roadway.

Part of the road near route 95 is in Wood County, while the rest is in the city of Parkersburg.

While it's hardly a major road, residents who live there, and who actually own the road, say it's become dangerous as well as a nuiscance.

"The planning commission voted, 14-1, to close it," said Martha Newberry, whose home is on the street. "We're hoping the city council will reconsider their legal position, based on the legal merits, and hopefully, they'll do the same."

Residents say people who don't live near the road have been using the area around it to burn brush, or as a bike trail.

Some drug use has also been reported in the area.
